Simon J. James is Senior Lecturer in Victorian Literature in the Department of English Studies at Durham University. He is the author of Unsettled Accounts: Money and Narrative in the Novels of George Gissing and the editor of four H. G. Wells novels for Penguin Classics and, currently, The Wellsian.
